Your website may not need a redesign or complete rebuild.

Improve the site you already have

If there are things about your website that aren’t working as well as they should, the answer isn’t always to start again.

We improve existing websites by fixing problems, removing limitations and adding new capability, while keeping what already works.

What’s holding your website back?

Your website might still look good and serve your organisation well, while becoming increasingly difficult to manage, improve or extend.

Difficult to manage

Content changes take too long, require technical help or are harder than they should be.

Missing functionality

You need new features, integrations or capabilities that your existing website doesn’t provide.

Outdated technology

Older platforms, page builders or custom development are making the website harder to maintain, improve or extend.

Slow or unreliable

Performance has deteriorated, updates cause problems or years of changes have made the website increasingly fragile.

Poor integrations

Your website doesn’t work effectively with the CRM, applications, platforms or other systems your organisation relies on.

Some parts need improving

Some sections, templates or functionality no longer work as well as they should, while the rest of the website still does.

Keep what works. Improve what doesn’t.

We start with the website you already have and what you’re trying to achieve. Sometimes a targeted improvement is enough. Sometimes parts of the website need to be modernised or rebuilt. And sometimes a complete rebuild or redesign IS the right answer.

We work out what needs to change before deciding how much needs to change.

What can we improve?

  • Make website content easier to manage
  • Add new functionality and features
  • Build or improve integrations
  • Replace limiting or outdated technology
  • Improve performance, accessibility and reliability
  • Modernise or rebuild the parts that need it
“We have no hesitation in recommending their services. They act as an extension of our business, keeping our commercial goals and needs in mind and continuing to evolve our ways of working to meet all of our many project needs. ”
Chelsey Quartermain – Global Head of Sales & Marketing, HunterMoss
CASE STUDY

HunterMoss: existing website, better outcome

HunterMoss came to us with a highly customised website that was difficult to manage and expensive to change. Even basic content updates required the site to be recompiled. Rather than immediately recommending a rebuild, we focused on improving what they already had.

We improved content management, performance, hosting and deployment, and built custom landing pages that delivered a significant increase in enquiries. We later rebuilt the site when the time was right, retaining HunterMoss’s design while replacing the restrictive underlying technology.

The technical capability to solve what’s actually needed.

Mainstay Digital is an Australian web development and technical advisory team.
We develop, manage and improve the websites and applications organisations rely on, from WordPress and custom websites through to applications, APIs and complex integrations.

That breadth means we can solve the immediate problem while considering how your website needs to perform, evolve and integrate over the longer term.

No retainers. No lock-in contracts.

“It’s truly like having a partner in the business to help meet objectives. The team can translate marketing goals into deliverables. What I value most as a marketer is the team providing options, recommendations and considerations before actioning.”
Alex Fagan – Marketing Specialist, State Trustees

FAQs

Does my website need to be rebuilt?

Not necessarily. Many websites can be significantly improved without starting again. We’ll look at what’s working, what’s causing problems and what you’re trying to achieve before recommending an approach.

What kinds of websites can you improve?

We work with established websites across WordPress, Craft CMS and custom platforms. We can also assess websites built with page builders such as Elementor and WPBakery, as well as more complex or heavily customised implementations.

What can you improve without rebuilding the whole website?

It depends on the website, but common improvements include content management, functionality, integrations, performance, security, accessibility, hosting and deployment, templates and other underlying technology.

Can you keep our existing design and content?

Yes. If the design, content, structure or other parts of the website are still working well, there may be no reason to replace them. We aim to keep what works and change what doesn’t.

What if a complete rebuild or redesign is the better option?

We’ll tell you. Sometimes the limitations are significant enough that rebuilding or redesigning is the better investment. We don’t begin with a predetermined solution.

What’s included in the free website review?

We’ll review your website and the issues you tell us about, then give you an initial view of what we’d investigate and where we think improvements may be possible. There’s no obligation to proceed.

Do you need access to our website?

Not for the initial review. We can start with your website URL and a brief description of what’s frustrating you. If further investigation requires access to the CMS, code or hosting environment, we’ll discuss that with you first.
